After a long break.....by Manisha Vedpathak

Its been three weeks since I came from India.  I haven't started painting
yet. Have got some paints and brushes and a 5m roll of canvas.

Can't wait to start painting. Last week I warmed up
by doodling Ganesha. Here it is..

Here is a painting which was done before I
travelled to India but was not posted.

Have a great week!

"Imposed"....An acrylic painting by Manisha Vedpathak

"Imposed"
Acrylic on canvas
Another doodle art converted into a painting.
This doodle was done while I was watching
an African movie. While I was painting I got
so engaged in getting the expressions on the faces
of these girls that I almost erased most of the crooked,
curved lines that served as outlines.
I thought of the title "Imposed",  as the girls in that
African movie had a lot of social barriers imposed
on them which I tried to symbolize using vertical
lines on their faces.
Would love to have your feedback.

Tomorrow I will be travelling to India for 2 months.
Hope to keep in touch while in India. Till then
have  safe and pleasant summer holidays.

"Yug Yug se..." ,a contemporary acrylic painting by Manisha Vedpathak

I travel to India every year in July for a month or two.
I don't buy any new canvases before travelling,
as I bring a 5 meter roll of canvas from India.
So a month or two before I travel is the time when
I go through all the old paintings and leftover canvas
 to experiment.

Here is the painting I created before last Valentine.

I decided to add a few things and here is the outcome.

"Yug yug se..."
Acrylic on canvas,12"x24"

"Yug yug se ..."is a phrase in Hindi language of the
meaning "for ages". Together for ages.
I liked it but you have to judge the painting whether
I have spoiled the painting or enhanced it. I would
love to read what you feel.

So do feel free to leave the comments .

"Veiled"....An acrylic painting by Manisha Vedpathak

"Veiled"
Acrylic on canvas, 19.68"x19.68

I really like doing these faces. These are the
creations when my hubby and daughter doesn't
want me to do any other activity than giving them
company to watch a movie or any cricket match
which I am not interested in. These doodled faces
are then painted whenever I take a break from
 painting  big canvases.
Hope you all enjoy this!

"Life".....An abstract by Manisha Vedpathak

"Life"
Acrylic on canvas, 19.6"x19.6"

This morning I heard this line in one of the TV soaps.
"Life is a journey...full of surprises" .
I am sure everybody will agree with this.
My painting also depicts Life. There are circles and there
are crossroads outside the circles. Every person goes through
this in life. There are crossroads ...some colorful, some black,
some hazy. There are many moments when you feel your life
is complete just like circles.
There is a mystery about the pearl string at the bottom of the painting.
The thing is ...A few months ago, I had started a painting which
had  this pearl string painted. Unfortunately I don't have the image
to show since I didn't like what I was creating. In the process while
reworking this canvas, I decided to keep the pearl string untouched.
It does suit the painting. And I feel it also adds meaning to the painting.
According to me it depicts the happiest moment in the Life.
What is your opinion?

"Dreamlike".....An acrylic painting by Manisha Vedpathak

"Dreamlike"
Acrylic on canvas,16"x16"

Thoroughly enjoyed painting this horse. Not only
this horse , I have always liked painting horses.
This canvas was lying around in my studio with a
background already painted...in fact it was the left
over paint that was smudged over the canvas with
a knife.
I hope you all enjoy this hazy look of the horse.
