Pastel Hearts

Acrylic painting on canvas,11.8" *23.6" ,sides 1.5"deep

This is an old canvas which I tranformed

into hearts painting.

I had given this canvas to my daughter in

her holidays because she wanted to try her

hand on color pour technique.I gave her

total freedom and bought some fluid acrylic

 paints . She used a lot of colours on the canvas.

Eventually she got tired,didn't like the outcome

 and abandoned the piece.Last week I decided

to try some oil pastels to scribble on it

but I felt incompleteness in the painting

 and used some acrylic to draw hearts.

Now I am satisfied ...I hope you all enjoy this

piece as I do.

Kathakali on panel

I had painted these two small mask

 paintings some time ago and they were

just lying around. So I decided to

fix it on a long panel and painted the

panel.

These paintings are of the mask of

the Kathakali dance which is the most

    well known dance drama from the south

 Indian state of Kerala.The word Kathakali

literally means "Story-Play".  It is known

     for its large, elaborate makeup and costumes. 

Kathakali is usually performed only by men.

The actors rely very heavily on hand

gesture to convey the story.

Motherhood

The background of this canvas was actually

painted by my daughter.It was just lying in

her  room so I decided to work on it.

I have always loved to see these African

ladies carrying babies on their back while

they are working.

I believe motherhood is the precious gift that

 a woman has got .Both of my art pieces are

based on motherhood. I have also tried to use

 watermark for one work.
