Upcoming Exhibition....by Indian abstract artist Manisha Vedpathak

Hello all. I am participating in a group show which will be held in Dec from 8th-11th. I am pretty excited about this show as the theme of this show is the collaboration of verbal and visual artists.
In this theme we are to give two paintings...one artwork will be inspired from the poem of their partner verbal artist and and the partner will write a poem inspired from my painting. I found it very interesting as i believe this enhances your skills as an artist. Both the artists are crossing the borders between the mediums  and builds a bridge which connects these two artists. This collaboration initiates an engaging open end dialogue . I am sure that the result of the collaboration will be such that no one voice is louder than the other and each will contribute to the discussion and each will be read and viewed equally by readers and viewers.
My partner is my friend and a poet ,Madhavi Apte a homemaker who is really good in creative writing. We have selected the theme of our collaboration as REFLECTION. I believe when a poem is written in response to an art, it becomes a way of seeing the art. It’s like seeing a reflection. As reflection is a fusion of your inner self and reality.
Recently I have taken Indian ink as a medium to experiment. The artworks for this exhibition are in this medium and I have used the pointillism technique here. i am really liking to work in ink medium though itI find it challenging. below are the two paintings. These are the reflections in the water. I will post the poems by my partner in the next post.

Exhibition in Rotterdam.....by Indian abstract artist Manisha Vedpathak

Have been away from my blog for really long time. Had a marriage in the family , my younger daughter joined Erasmus University in Rotterdam, Holland. Had been with her in Rotterdam for a month. During that time I met a very warm personality Zoe  Cochia, when I visited her gallery Niffo Galerie/ Recycle studio . Here are some pics taken in her Gallery .

I found her Galerie very interesting and active. She gave me an opportunity to exhibit in her group show themed ,"Potato..Home coming", which  was held on 7th Oct'2018. I wasn't able to attend the show as I had already returned to India but I handed over two of my small paintings to her which were exhibited in the show. Here are the two paintings:

It's a small 20x20 cms , ink medium on canvas. The theme being potato, the two potatoes in the painting represent me and my younger daughter who is studying in Rotterdam and the blue water represents Holland which is famous for it's canals . The symbols in the painting are the adinkra symbol Gye Nyame, which is for supreme God.

"I am not me , I am we".....unveiling of an art installation by Manisha Vedpathak

Since last two months I have been working on a project in collaboration
with Gyan Adab center , Pune and the director-artist of the center Mr Randhir Khare.
We are working on a 8 foot tall canvas pyramid on the theme of diversity.

In a divided world, the only force that can still bring people together despite differences is the harmonious power of the visual, performing and literary arts which express oneness that lies deep within us all. To celebrate this oneness ,Randhir Khare  and I, have created an eight foot tall canvas pyramid which expresses in acrylic and ink, the subliminal creative power of the world we live in. The title and spirit of the installation is inspired by the poem “This is Not My Life” by Randhir Khare which emphasizes that we are not exclusive beings but contain instead – all life.
To show the diversity we are painting on same canvas with our unique styles
intermingling each other's works.  My vivid colorful style with Randhir's line works and primitive forms. Here are some pics of the canvas in process...

Here is a finished piece of one  side of pyramid .... You will notice some snakes and the tree
on the canvas. these works are by Randhir Khare , rest is painted by me.

Tomorrow evening at 6.45pm, the installation will be unveiled at a performance programme which features Maestro Milind Date on the flute, accomplished Kathak dancer Shruti…., singer song-writer Sarthak Dua, poet performer Jitendra Maid and others.

Prior to the performance there will be a workshop in which participants will be guided through painting their own model pyramids to celebrate the diversity and creative harmony in their own lives.
I invite you all to grace the evening!

"Lyrical", an abstract by Manisha Vedpathak

Came across this painting while I was going through my old
sold paintings. Felt inspired to do something in that style again
and came up with this painting. May do some more in this
style with different color combination.
Here is the old one ,followed by  the new one...
