'Afloat'...an abstract by Indian artist Manisha Vedpathak

I am getting busier as the date for our curated exhibition is getting closer. Also my daughters who were with us for last few months will be leaving soon. I am trying to collect as much memories as possible so I can cherish these when they are not with me.

I enjoyed the last two paintings so much that when I saw this long canvas , I decided to paint the same concept in a horizontal orientation. Would like to know from my readers if they liked this painting.

"Solo traveler"....by artist Manisha Vedpathak

My new painting is complete and titled "Solo traveler".
This is a part of Reflection series but at the same time I have painted this for an exhibition on the occasion of Women's day.
Knowledge fuels empowerment - and there is no better way to learn than through travel.
One of the most liberating ways for Her to empower herself is by embracing solo travel. Travel feeds her curiosity, thirst for wanderlust and appetite for adventure. There was time when safety concerns prevented Her from taking solo journeys. But in the era of Women Empowerment, She is making 80% of all travel decisions - definitely a liberating statistic. She is more independent than she has ever realized. She learns about architecture, tastes weird delicacies and embraces new culture.  Being alone gives Her time to reflect on everything that is happening around Her.She has learned to see the world in a different perspective, conquer Her fears and also learned new skills. With all that exercised self confidence, awareness and connection to Her own gut instincts came the feeling that she can conquer anything. There is a distinct feeling of freedom that comes with solo travel.
My painting is a reflection of this empowering experience.

"Reflection VI"....an abstract by Indian artist Manisha Vedpathak

Since my dimples only appear whenever I smile,
facing everything in life with that smile is a wonderful feeling.
Eyes are also the window to one's self.
Just a look can reflect your identity and experiences.

"Reflection V"......an abstract by Indian artist Manisha Vedpathak

Water....The mirror of the nature

Only one can see what
is shown in the mirror of
water you see, it's their
own reflection that they see
to show them what life
has been made for thee....

I came across these lines on the net and thought that these were apt for my Reflection paintings.

After satisfying my thirst of finger painting with the creation of two gorgeous floral abstracts ,I am back to my Reflection series fully fresh and rejuvenated. I had completed half of the painting when I took a break from it. Here is the completed artwork.

"Reflection IV".....an abstract by Indian artist Manisha Vedpathak

When I finished giving dots all over, I first thought that I finished the painting. But after staring at it from far, I wasn't satisfied as the reflection of a part of the building that is seen on left side of the painting, didn't seem right to me . So I decided to reduce the reflection and continue with the water . and here is the finished painting. I hope it is looking good now.
