"India's First Woman's Art Fair".....by Indian artist Manisha Vedpathak

I had been quite busy last two months and my precious blog left neglected. We had our big festival of lights, Diwali but before that I completed 8 mixed media paintings which I had to submit for a virtual art fair. Then travelled to Netherlands to attend Graduation ceremony of my younger daughter. Coming back got busy with my house painting. We are still in the process right now but today I found a quite place in my room to post .

I got selected for the virtual exhibition "India's First Woman's Art Fair" organized by Art Awareness Foundation and World Art Fair. Here is a glimpse of my paintings in the exhibition and also a link :

"Spill Over"..An Abstract in acrylic on canvas

"Spill Over"
Acrylic on canvas
This is amongst those paintings which one feels unsatisfied
about.I am not able to think what more I want to do with this
piece. I think I will keep this aside till I am ready to add to this.

"Burst"...An Abstract in acrylic on canvas!!

"Burst"
Acrylic on canvas,24"x31"

There was a painting which I did in 2011.
My apologies for the bad quality of the photo.
( I didn't know THEN, how to photograph an artwork :) )

There was a feeling of  incompleteness in this painting,
but always had  a hesitation to try my hand on it, out
of the  fear that original may get spoiled.I had hung this
painting in the hall which I always do with  some paintings,
which I feel  can be improved. The  reason  is ,looking at it
everyday gives me  ideas  for the next painting or I can
keep guessing what I can add to that painting.

This morning, I felt a sudden urge to add some colors
to this painting and then there was a burst of colors on it
 and thus the name.
Awwww...I so love this painting now. Do you?
I have thought of two titles for this painting which are related
to the making of it:
1)Urge
2)Burst
Though I have selected BURST which one do you suggest?
Don't just leave the page after reading,I would appreciate
if you can drop a suggestion which will make me feel
connected to you all ,the readers of my blog.

"Washing day"......An acrylic painting on canvas

I think of a  lot of themes whenever I want to start
a painting but eventually end up in doing abstracts.
I have decided that I will try to focus on my abstracts
but I will keep on doing some combination of
 abstract and figurative occasionally.
So here is one in the same line. African ladies washing
clothes.I would appreciate and love any comments on
my artwork.

Lazy Week

This week has started with a lazy feeling. Last week was pretty good .Hosted a preValentine open house at my studio.I had showcased most of my small paintings and had a pretty good sale.

A very big Thank you to all of my near and dear friends and visitors who dropped in to appreciate my art. It feels so nice when someone even talks about your work. And feel proud especially when you see the painting adding vibrancy to the atmosphere in it's new home.Very soon I will be posting photos of some of those art lovers who bought my paintings.
One of my big paintings got sold yesterday. Here is that my favourite one.
I was planning not to paint anything this week. But I have some commissioned work to be completed, plus a new painting is waiting which I had just started.
So will probably get to painting. As for now I am a happy happy creature.
